Lucas Celler is a producer, director, editor, motion designer and photographer with an emphasis on stranger than fiction stories. Originally from Chicago, Lucas relocated to Los Angeles after graduating Magna Cum Laude from DePaul University. Passionate about cinema his entire life, he honed his craft making DIY skateboarding films as a teenager, then cut his teeth working alongside his mentor, director Jeff Feuerzeig. Working as associate producer and assistant editor (among many other capacities), Lucas took Jeff's widely acclaimed documentary AUTHOR: THE JT LEROY STORY—the story behind the fictional literary persona JT LeRoy—to Sundance 2016. Since then, he has worked on various artistic projects, such as directing and editing his first music video for Dean Wareham which was featured on several major music publications like Spin Magazine and The Quietus. Most recently, Lucas has earned his first feature editing credit on SHIRKERS, a documentary about what would have been Singapore's first independent film if it weren't mysteriously absconded with—only to resurface 25 years later and make its premiere at Sundance 2018 where it won the Directing Award.
